PERTUMBUHAN DAN PRODUKSI BENIH JAGUNG TIGA VARIETAS YANG TELAH MENGALAMI PENYIMPANAN SATU BULAN DAN ENAM BULAN

Abstract


This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the growth and production of three corn seeds that have undergone one month and six months of storage. This research was conducted at the Maros Cereal Research Institute (BALITSEREAL), South Sulawesi, which took place from August to December 2019. The materials used were Pulut and BC2F1 local Srikand Putih corn seeds, saromil, urea and NPK fertilizer. The study used a two-factor factorial randomized block design (RBD) method. As the first factor is the type of variety, namely: Srikandi Putih Variety, Pulut Local Variety and BC2F1. The second factor was seed storage, namely: seed storage for 1 month, seed storage for 6 months so that 6 treatment combinations were obtained with 3 replications obtained 18 experimental units.The results of this study indicated that the treatment of 1 month seed shelf life had a significant effect on the growth and production of 3 varieties of white srikandi, pulut local and genotype BC2F1. The interaction between genotype BC2F1 and 1 month shelf life had a good effect on ear diameter and seed weight.
