EVALUASI KELAS KEMAMPUAN LAHAN DAN ARAHAN PENGGUNAAN LAHAN KERING DI KECAMATAN BANJAR, KABUPATEN BULELENG

Abstract


Banjar District is a dryland area in Buleleng Regency covering approximately 10.938,58 ha, and is dominated by Regosol soil. The topography is varied, with slope gradients ranging from 15 – 40 %. This study aims to classify land capability classes and their distribution, identify the main limiting factors, and establish land-use guidelines based on land capability. The research process began with an overlay to determine the land capability class, followed by field surveys, soil sampling, and laboratory analysis. The results indicate that land capability classes are divided into three categories: Class III (Munduk village A, Banyuatis village, Tirtasari village, and Munduk village C), Class IV (Gesing village, Gobleg village A, Munduk village B, and Sidetapa Village), Class VI (Tigawasa village). Slope gradient and erosion levels were the most dominant limiting factors. Based on the scoring results, land use guidelines consist of buffer zones with a score of 140 – 160, found in Gesing village, Munduk village A, Gobleg village A, Munduk village B, Banyuatis village, Tirtasari village, and Munduk village C. Perennial crop cultivation with a score of 110 is found in Tigawasa village, Gobleg village B, and Sidetapa village. The higher the land capability class, the greater the constraints involved, so its use is more focused on conservation functions to ensure environmental sustainability.
