EFEKTIVITAS PUPUK ORGANIK CAIR BERBAHAN KULIT PISANG KEPOK DAN KULIT NANAS TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN DAN HASIL CABAI RAWIT (Capsicum frutescens L.)

Abstract

This study evaluated the individual and interactive effects of liquid organic fertilizers (LOFs) derived from kepok banana peels and pineapple peels on the growth and early yield of bird's eye chili. The experiment used a 4 x 4 factorial randomized block design with three blocks and 48 experimental units. Banana-peel LOF and pineapple-peel LOF were each applied at 0, 60, 80, and 100 mL/L. Plant height and leaf number were analyzed at 49 days after transplanting, while flowering time and cumulative fruit weight and fruit number from the first two harvests were also recorded. Data were analyzed using factorial analysis of variance followed by Tukey's honestly significant difference test at 5%. The interaction between the two LOFs significantly affected plant height leaf number cumulative early fruit weight and cumulative early fruit number but did not affect flowering time Both LOFs independently affected flowering time. The combination of 100 mL/L banana-peel LOF and 100 mL/L pineapple-peel LOF produced the highest numerical means for plant height (52.33 cm), leaf number (79 leaves), early fruit weight (41.33 g per plant), and early fruit number (44 fruits per plant). This combination was significantly superior to all other combinations only for leaf number and was not consistently different from all treatments for the other variables. Therefore, 100 mL/L + 100 mL/L represents the highest-performing combination within the tested range, but an optimum concentration cannot yet be established.
