PREDIKSI EROSI MENGGUNAKAN METODE USLE (UNIVERSAL SOIL LOSS EQUATION) DAN SISTEM INFORMASI GEOGRAFIS (SIG) DI KECAMATAN BOLAANG UKI KABUPATEN BOLAANG MONGONDOW SELATAN

Abstract


Erosion is the movement or transportation of soil particles from one location to another by natural forces. In erosion phenomena, soil or soil parts are eroded and transported to another location, where they are deposited. erosion and soil transport occur through natural mediums such as water and wind. GIS enables the determination of spatial parameter distribution. each element of USLE is calculated using functions available in GIS software. This research aims to determine the predicted erosion values, the tolerable erosion rate, and the key factors that can reduce the erosion rate. The research was conducted from February to April 2024 in Bolaang Uki Subdistrict. This research employs a descriptive method with direct field surveys. Data processing is carried out using the USLE method and GIS. The results of the study showed that the predicted erosion values in 7 land units were different, namely the highest estimated erosion value on land VII with a slope of 15-25% of 349.39 tons/ha/yr, while the lowest on land I with a slope of 0-3% was 11.86 tons/ha/yr. The highest tolerable erosion value (Etol) was 10.80 tons/ha/yr and the lowest was 2.88 tons/ha/yr. Based on the erosion value and CP value, it is recommended that chili, corn, cassava, clove, cocoa, and candlenut plants be adjusted to the conditions of each land.
