RESPONS PERTUMBUHAN DAN KEPARAHAN GEJALA TUNGRO PADI VARIETAS MEKONGGA TERHADAP DOSIS NITROGEN

Abstract


Rice is an important food commodity in Indonesia, and tungro disease is one of the diseases that can affect rice production. Nitrogen fertilization is an important factor in rice growth and may also be associated with tungro disease severity. This study aimed to evaluate the response of tungro disease severity, disease incidence, plant height, and number of tillers of Mekongga rice to different nitrogen doses. The study was conducted at the BRMP Lanrang Greenhouse, Sidenreng Rappang Regency, using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with a single factor consisting of four nitrogen treatments: N0 = control (0 g N/clump), N1 = 0.75 g N/clump, N2 = 1.00 g N/clump, and N3 = 1.25 g N/clump, with four replications, resulting in 16 experimental units. The results showed that, descriptively, the 1.25 g N/clump nitrogen treatment produced the lowest disease severity index (DSI), at 4.0, the lowest disease incidence (DI), at 75%, and the highest number of tillers, at 6.5 tillers. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) showed that nitrogen application did not significantly affect disease incidence, plant height, or number of tillers
