RESPON PERTUMBUHAN DAN PRODUKSI BAWANG MERAH (Allium cepa L.) TERHADAP TIPE PEMOTONGAN UMBI BIBIT DAN PEMBERIAN ZAT PENGATUR TUMBUH ALAMI

Abstract


This study aims to determine the effect of seed tuber cutting type and natural growth regulator concentration on shallot growth and production. The study was conducted in Tontonan Hamlet, Tanete Village, Anggeraja Subdistrict, Enrekang Regency from October to December 2023. The research method used a two-factor factorial Randomised Block Design (RBD). The first factor was the type of seed bulb cutting (U), which consisted of three treatment levels, namely: U1 = Cut 1/4 of the top of the bulb, U2 = Cut 1/3 of the top of the bulb, and U3 = Cut 1/2 of the top of the bulb. The second factor was the concentration of coconut water PGR (K), which consisted of three treatment levels: K0 = (control), K1 = 25% (250 ml coconut water + 750 ml water), and K2 = 75% (750 ml coconut water + 250 ml water). The results showed that cutting 1/4 of the seed tuber had the best effect on sprouting time (2.83 days), number of tubers (9.42 tubers) and dry weight of tubers (54.14 grams). The 75% coconut water ZPT concentration had the best effect on sprouting time, which was 2.55 days; plant height, which was 32.42 cm; number of tubers, which was 9.42 tubers; and dry tuber weight, which was 55.14 grams. The interaction between the 1/4 section cutting type of seed tubers and the 75% coconut water ZPT concentration had the best effect on the number of tubers parameter.
