IDENTIFIKASI GULMA DI LAHAN PERTANAMAN JAGUNG (Zea mays L.) PADA FASE VEGETATIF DAN GENERATIF DI KABUPATEN MAROS DAN GOWA

Abstract


One of the limiting factors in increasing corn production in South Sulawesi is that weeds are cultivated. Weeds can reduce yields on maize cropping, this can occur due to competition with other plants that grow on crop land that can compete in terms of nutrients, water, solar radiation and growing space so that it will reduce the amount of crop. The study aims to determine the effect of the concentration of atrazine herbicide in controlling weeds on the growth and production of maize. This research was carried out at the Horticultural Plant Seed Center, Sudiang, South Sulawesi. The study was carried out from June to September 2019, using a Randomized Block Design, one factor with 5 treatments, 3 replications as follows: control, atrazine herbicide (3 ml / liter, 4 ml / liter, 5 ml / liter, 6 ml / liter) . The parameters observed in weeds are weed population, and types of weeds, frequency, weed dominance, summed dominance ratio. The parameters of corn plants are plant height, number of leaves and shell weight. The results showed that administration of atrazine herbicide concentration of 3 ml / 1 liter effectively suppressed weed populations, the dominance of weeds and types of weeds in maize crop so that it affected the growth and production of corn plants.
