KARAKTERISTIK AGRONOMI TANAMAN JAGUNG GALUR HARAPAN DI LAHAN KERING DESA CAMPAGAYA KECAMATAN GALESONG KABUPATEN TAKALAR

Abstract


This study aimed to determine the agronomic characteristics of promising maize lines that exhibit high growth and yield. The study was conducted using a randomised block design with seven treatments: Promising Line 1, Promising Line 2, Promising Line 3, Promising Line 4, Pulut Uri variety, Srikandi Putih variety, and the local Jeneponto Pulut variety. Each of these 7 treatments was replicated 4 times, resulting in 28 experimental units. The results showed that Hopeful Line 3 exhibited superior growth and yield in terms of plant height, time to 50% female flowering, ear length, weight of 50 ears, yield, and yield per hectare, and tended to perform better in terms of the number of leaves. The Srikandi Putih variety showed better growth and yield in terms of 50% male flowering, ear height from ground level, and ear diameter. The Pulut Uri variety had a significant effect on the weight of 100 kernels.
