PENGARUH PERBANDINGAN MEDIA TANAM KOMPOS DAN INTERVAL WAKTU PENYIRAMAN TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN DAN HASIL MICROGREEN TANAMAN SELADA (Lactuca sativa L.)

Abstract


This research was carried out with the aim of 1) to determine the comparative effect of household waste compost on the growth and yield of microgreen lettuce plants. 2) To find out the best watering interval for the growth and yield of microgreen lettuce plants. 3) To determine the interaction of household waste compost media and watering time intervals on the growth and yield of microgreen lettuce plants. This research was carried out at the Polbangtan Gowa Campus Greenhouse, Jl. Malino No. KM 7, Romang Lompoa, District. Bontomarannu, Kab. Gowa, South Sulawesi Province. The research period took place from May to June 2024. This research used a Completely Randomized Design consisting of 2 treatment factors. The first factor is a comparison of the media with the composition of soil and household waste compost with 3 levels, namely 1 : 1 (soil : compost), 2 : 1 (soil : compost), 1 : 2 (soil : compost). The second factor is the watering time interval with 2 levels, namely watering once a day and watering twice a day. There were 6 treatment combinations, repeated 3 times, so that 18 experimental units were obtained. The research results showed that the interaction of household waste compost and watering time intervals did not have a significant effect on the growth and yield of microgreen lettuce. Household waste compost with a soil to compost ratio of 1:2 produced a better effect on plant height, obtained an average value of 7.73 cm, fresh weight 7.33 g/25 cm2, fresh. weight per tray 11.9 g, root weight 2.00 g/25 cm 2, root weight per tray 3.33 g, fresh consumption weight 5.33 g/25 cm2, fresh consumption weight per tray 9.00 g. Watering twice a day produced the best effect on plant height, with an average value of 7.47 cm, fresh weight 6.33 g/25 cm2, fresh weight per tray 10.56 g, fresh weight consumed 4.67 g/25 cm2, and fresh weight consumed per tray 8.11 g.
