EVALUASI KESESUAIAN LAHAN TANAMAN BAWANG PUTIH (Allium sativum L.) DI KECEMATAN BELO KABUPATEN BIMA PROVINSI NUSA TENGGARA BARAT

Abstract


This study aims to determine the actual and potential land suitability of garlic (Allium sativum L.) and its limiting factors in Belo District, Bima Regency. The land survey was carried out by referring to land units, consisting of compilation of basic data, field exploration, soil description, soil sampling, laboratory analysis and assessment of the land suitability of garlic plants. The research method is the FAO method which is carried out by collecting data such as rainfall data for the last 6 years of Belo District obtained from BMKG Bima and collecting basic maps such as land use maps, soil type maps and slope maps. The maps are overlaid / overlapping so that 27 land units are represented by 3 land units as units of observation based on soil types which are then grouped based on land use and soil sampling which are then analyzed in the laboratory. The properties analyzed are adjusted to the information required in the study. land suitability based on the FAO method. The results of the analysis were evaluated land suitability classes, for garlic plants based on the determined land characteristics. The results showed that the actual land suitability of Belo District, with 3 land units, namely U1, and U2 with suitability class S3 (according to marginal) with limiting factors namely (wa) rainfall, (nr) C − organic and (na) N total. whereas for U3 with land suitability class S3 (according to marginal) it has limiting factors, namely, (wa) rainfall and (nr) C − organic. The potential land suitability of Belo Subdistrict from all land units after improvement with the addition of organic matter, liming, addition of N and P fertilizers so that all land units become land suitability classes S3 − wa rainfall (according to marginal) garlic plants in kecamatan belo cannot be developed for business because rainfall is a giver condition which cannot be changed on a large scale.
