EVALUASI KESESUAIAN LAHAN TANAMAN KAKAO (Theobroma cacao L) DI KECAMATAN ARALLE KABUPATEN MAMASA PROVINSI SULAWESI BARAT

Abstract


This study aims to determine the actual and potential land suitability of cocoa (Theobroma cacao L.) and the limiting factors in Aralle District, Mamasa Regency. Land evaluation was carried out by field surveys, soil sampling, sample analysis in the laboratory. The research method is based on the FAO method. Interpretation of actual and potential land suitability by matching climate data, primary field data and analysis in the laboratory with cocoa plant land suitability criteria. The results showed that the actual land suitability class in Aralle District on land units 3, 10 and 15 was marginally appropriate (S3e) with the limiting factor for the level of erosion hazard (erosion and slope hazard), land units 13 and 20 with land suitability classes were quite suitable (S2n ) with available nutrient limiting factors (P205) and (K20), while land unit 9 with moderately suitable land suitability class (S2fn) with nutrient retention limiting factors (CEC Soil) and available nutrients (P205). Land unit 14 with moderately suitable land suitability class (S2ne) with available nutrient limiting factors (P205) and (K20) and the level of erosion hazard (erosion and slope hazard). Potential land suitability class in Aralle District, in land units 3, 10 and 15 S2 land suitability class and S1 land suitability class 9, 13, 20 and 14 land units
