EVALUASI KESESUAIAN LAHAN TANAMAN KAKAO (Theobroma cacao L) DI KECAMATAN MARIORIWAWO KABUPATEN SOPPENG

Abstract


This study aims to determine the actual and potential land suitability of cocoa (Theobroma cacao L.) and its limiting factors in Marioriwawo District, Soppeng Regency. The research method is based on the FAO method with land characteristic limiting factors. The results showed that the actual land suitability of cocoa plants in Marioriwawo District, Soppeng Regency, on land units 1,4,5,6,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19, 20,21 and 22 according to marginal (S3) with available nutrient limiting factors (P2O5), while the actual land suitability of land units 2,3 and 7 is also marginally appropriate (S3) with nutrient retention limiting factors (CEC) and available nutrients (P2O5 ). The potential land suitability of all land units is highly suitable. Efforts to improve the CEC limiting factor with the addition of organic matter. The improvement effort with the limiting factor P2O5 is the application of fertilizer with SP-36.
