PERTUMBUHAN DAN PRODUKSI TANAMAN MELON (Cucumis melo L.) PADA PEMBERIAN PUPUK NPK DENGAN DOSIS YANG BERBEDA

Abstract


This study aims to determine the best dose of NPK fertilizer on the growth and production of melon plants. This research was conducted at the Green House of the Faculty of Agriculture, Indonesian Muslim University, Makassar, South Sulawesi. This research began in June 2022 to August 2022. This study used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) which consisted of 1 treatment factor in the form of a dose of NPK fertilizer which consisted of 5 treatment levels, namely P0: without 0 g fertilizer/plant, P1: NPK fertilizer at a dose of 45 g/plant, P2: NPK fertilizer at a dose of 90 g/plant, P3: NPK fertilizer at a dose of 135 g/plant, P4: NPK fertilizer at a dose of 1 80g/plant. Each treatment was repeated 4 times and each treatment consisted of 2 polybags of plant samples, so that 40 plant sample units were obtained. The results showed that the best dose of NPK fertilizer on the growth of melon plants was in the P4 treatment with a dose of 180 g/plant, which showed a plant height of 118.25 cm, the number of leaves was 24.00, the time of appearance of female flowers was 23.00 hst and the best dose of NPK fertilizer in melon plant production was in the P4 treatment with a dose of 180 g/plant, the fruit diameter was 7.43 cm and the fruit weight was 217.50 g.
