APLIKASI SISTEM INFORMASI GEOGRAFIS DALAM PERENCANAAN PENGGUNAAN LAHAN PADA SAWAH DI KECAMATAN PITUMPANUA KABUPATEN WAJO

Abstract


This study aims to analyze the potential development of land use area in Pitumpanua District, Wajo Regency. The land survey was conducted using the land unit system method, consisting of basic data preparation, field exploration, soil description, soil sampling, laboratory analysis and land suitability assessment of rice plants. The research method is the FAO method. The properties analyzed are adjusted to the information needed in land suitability research based on the FAO method. The actual land suitability of Pitumpanua kec. which is divided into 3 villages and 23 villages has an area of 18421.18 Ha with Land Suitability classes S3 and N1. Land suitability S3 has limiting factors such as (r) drainage, (n) N, P205, K20 and (e) Slope. While the potential land suitability class with an area of 13507.52 Ha has classes S1 (very suitable) to S2 (quite suitable). Limiting factors include (r) texture, of the three villages and twenty-three existing villages, two villages are very potential, namely Tellesang village and Botto Tengnga village and 1 very potential village, namely Benteng village. The results of the analysis using the Geographic Information System (GIS) of the availability of land for planning the use of paddy fields in Pitumpanua sub-district, Wajo district, covering an area of 1717.58 hectares of the study site, has the potential (suitable) for the expansion of agricultural land use for paddy rice. The available land comes from land use in the form of dry land farming, mixed dry land farming, dry land farming, and dry land farming
