PENGARUH KOMPOSISI MEDIA TANAM DAN Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) AKAR BAMBU TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN DAN PRODUKSI TANAMAN TOMAT (Solanum lycopersicum L.)

Abstract


This study aimed to evaluate the effects of planting media composition and bamboo root-derived PGPR (Plant Growth-Promoting Rhizobacteria) concentrations on the growth and yield of tomato plants, as well as their interaction effects. The experiment used a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with two factors: (1) planting media types (control, soil + cow manure, soil + compost, soil + rice husk charcoal), and (2) PGPR concentrations (control, 10 ml/L, 12.5 ml/L, and 15 ml/L), resulting in 16 treatment combinations, each replicated three times for a total of 48 experimental units. The results indicated that soil combined with cow manure significantly increased plant height (65.49 cm), number of leaves (53.01), earlier flowering (29.18 days), number of productive branches (7.47), number of fruits per plant (21.13), and total fruit weight (527.02 g) compared to other media compositions. The PGPR concentration of 12.5 ml/L produced the best outcomes, significantly enhancing similar growth and yield parameters, including plant height (65.15 cm) and fruit weight (516.17 g). Moreover, significant interaction effects between media composition and PGPR concentration were found in plant height (68.17 cm), flowering time (30.50 days), and fruit count per plant (22.77). These findings suggest that the combination of cow manure-based planting media and PGPR at 12.5 ml/L optimally supports tomato growth and productivity
