PENGARUH WAKTU PERENDAMAN BENIH KAKAO PADA TRICHODERMA HARZIANUM TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN BIBIT KAKAO (Theobroma cacao L.)

Abstract


This study was conducted to determine the optimal soaking time for cocoa beans when applying Trichoderma harzianum to promote cocoa seedling growth. The study was carried out in Jampu Village, Liliriaja Subdistrict, Soppeng Regency. The research period ran from June to September 2023. The method used in this study was the Randomised Block Design (RBD), consisting of five treatment levels: P0 (Control), P1 (application of Trichoderma harzianum with a soaking time of 30 minutes), P2 (application of Trichoderma harzianum with a soaking time of 60 minutes), P3 (application of Trichoderma harzianum with a soaking time of 90 minutes), P4 (application of Trichoderma harzianum with a soaking time of 120 minutes). The parameters observed were germination rate, plant height, number of leaves, primary root length, fresh and dry weight of the canopy, fresh and dry weight of the roots, and stem diameter. The results of the study showed that the soaking time of cocoa seeds in Trichoderma harzianum had a significant effect on plant height, number of leaves, and stem diameter. Meanwhile, the 60-minute soaking time yielded the highest germination rate of 90%.
