PENGARUH JENIS ZAT PENGATUR TUMBUH ALAMI DAN MEDIA TANAM TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN SETEK TANAMAN LADA (Piper nigrum L.)

Abstract


This study was conducted to determine the effect of natural plant growth regulators (PGRs) and growing media, as well as the interaction between the two, on the growth of pepper cuttings. The research was carried out from August to October 2023 in Rante Mario Village, Malua Sub-district, Enrekang Regency. The study employed a Randomised Block Design (RBD) with a factorial design comprising two factors. The first factor was the application of natural plant growth regulators, which included three treatment levels: P0 (control), P1 (coconut water), and P2 (red onion extract). The second factor was the growing medium, comprising three levels: M1 (topsoil + sand in a 2:1 ratio), M2 (topsoil + sand + goat manure in a 2:1:1 ratio), and M3 (topsoil + sand + burnt rice husks in a 2:1:1 ratio). The combination of these two factors resulted in 9 treatments with 3 replicates, yielding 27 experimental plots. The results of the study showed that the application of natural plant growth regulators had a significant effect only on the parameter of shoot emergence time. Meanwhile, the growing medium treatment had a significant effect on the parameter of shoot length. The interaction between the growing medium and the application of natural plant growth regulators also showed a significant effect on the parameters of shoot emergence time and shoot length.
