EVALUASI KESESUAIAN LAHAN TANAMAN JAGUNG (Zea mays L.) DI KECAMATAN KALUKKU KABUPATEN MAMUJU

Abstract


Evaluation of Land Suitability for Corn Plants (Zea mays L.) in Kalukku District, Mamuju Regency. Supervised by Saida Supervisor I and Anwar Robbo Supervisor II This research was conducted to determine actual and potential land suitability as well as limiting factors for corn (Zea mays L.) plants in Kalukku District, Mamuju Regency. The research method used is the FAO method by collecting data such as rainfall data for the last 5 years, temperature data for Kalukku District obtained from BMKG Mamuju and collecting basic maps such as land use maps, soil type maps and slope maps obtained from the Spatial Planning Division at the Department. Public Works and Spatial Planning of West Sulawesi Province. The maps were then overlaid to obtain 4 types of land and 10 land units. Soil samples were taken from each land unit with each type of soil and then analyzed in the laboratory. The analyzed properties are adjusted to the information required in land suitability research based on FAO methods. The results of the analysis evaluate the land suitability class for corn plants based on the specified land characteristics. Based on the research results, it shows that the actual land suitability for corn plants in Kalukku District, Mamuju Regency in land units (1,2,9,4,10) is marginal (S3n) with limiting factors namely Available Nutrients (n), land units (3 and 5) according to marginal (S3ne) with limiting factors available Nutrients (n) and Erosion Hazard (e), land units (6 and 7) according to marginal (S3rn) with limiting factors Rooting Media (r) and Available Nutrients (n) and units land (8) according to marginal (S3rne) with limiting factors of Rooting Media (r), Available Nutrients (n) and Erosion Hazard (e). The potential land suitability of land units (1,2,3,4,5,9,10) after improvements were made with the addition of SP-36 fertilizer and conservation efforts became very suitable land suitability class (S1). Meanwhile, land units (6,7,8) are marginal (S3r) with a limiting factor for Rooting Media (r) cannot be repaired
