DETEKSI DAN IDENTIFIKASI HELMINTHOSPORIUM SOLANI PADA UMBI KENTANG DI SULAWESI SELATAN

Abstract


Potatoes are an important food commodity in Indonesia and are needed throughout the year. One of the obstacles in the potato production business is the presence of diseases caused by fungi, bacteria and viruses. Fungi or fungi are non-chlorophyll organisms whose lives depend on other organisms, both living and dead organisms. This new disease appears in potato plants, namely Helminthosoporium solani. The fungus is known to cause Silver scrurf in potato plants. This study aims to detect and identify Helminthosporium solani on potato plants. This study used the blotter test method, namely the fungus isolation method with filter paper moistened with sterile distilled water. Based on the results of the detection and identification test of Helminthosporium solani on potato tubers in South Sulawesi, the fungus Helminthosporium solani was found in Enrekang and Gowa Regencies, while samples taken from Bantaeng District were not found.
