INTENSITAS SERANGAN PENYAKIT KARAT DAUN (Hemileia vastatrix) PADA TANAMAN KOPI KABUPATEN GOWA

Abstract


This study aims to determine the rate of development, the level of attack and isolate and identify the fungus Hemileia vastatrix. This research was carried out on farmers' land in Topidi Village and Bontollerung Village, Tinggimoncong District, Gowa Regency which took place from May to July 2023. Tools and materials used in this research are Laminar Air Flow (LAF). Autoclave, oven, Bunsen lamp, beaker glass, petri dish, measuring cup, tweezers, scissors, analytical balance, sample bag, ruler, scissors, neat rope, label, stationery, camera, materials used ordinary PDA media, sterile water, 70% alcohol, distilled water, aluminium foil, plastic wrap, and coffee leaves with symptoms of Hemileia vastatrix leaf rust disease in coffee plantations. The results of this study showed that the identification of fungi isolated from the field showed orange-coloured uredespores shaped like kidneys and had convex spines. The highest intensity of leaf rust disease attack was found in plot 4 with a value of 69%, which is included in the heavy attack category. The rate of leaf rust attack from the first week to the third week increased, but in the fourth week the rate of leaf rust attack decreased to 0.14% units/week.
