KARAKTERISTIK PADI LOKAL ASE BANDA GENERASI M5 HASIL RADIASI SINAR GAMMA

Abstract


This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the effect of gamma radiation on changes in the characteristics of local Ase Banda rice varieties in the M5 generation and knowing the best dose to shorten the stem and accelerate the harvest age of local Ase Banda rice varieties. The research was conducted using a Randomised Group Design consisting of 3 treatments, namely: 0 grey, 200 grey, 300 grey. Each treatment was repeated 3 times so that there were 9 experimental units. The parameters observed were plant height, number of tillers, number of productive tillers, flowering age, harvesting age, length of stalk, number of ears, dry grain weight per plot and dry grain weight per hectare. The results showed that the use of gamma radiation with various doses had a significant effect on changes in the characteristics of plant height, flowering age, harvest age, length and number of ears, but had no significant effect on the number of tillers, number of productive tillers, dry grain weight per plot and dry grain weight per hectare. In the 300 Gray treatment, the shortest plant height was 174.67 cm at the age of 12 weeks, the fastest flowering age was 75.00 days and the fastest harvest age was 116.33 days. In the 200 Gray treatment, the best panicle length and number of grains were 54.33 cm and 213.00 grains. While the highest yields per plot and per hectare were found in the 0 Gray treatment which were 1326.93 grams and 6.63 tonnes, respectively.
